Alex Comana

Alex Comana is a first-generation immigrant to the United States from Zambia located in central Africa. Having attended Nazareth School in Mission Valley, Helix High school in La Mesa, Alex then earned his bachelor’s degree in communications at Colorado State University. Furthering his education, Alex earned his California Real Estate salesperson license then his California State Brokers license in the early 2000’s. Newly married and with his first of three children blessing his life Alex established The Comana Company with his wife Nikki. In the year 2013 Alex Comana, through continued education earned the prestigious title of Certified Property Manager through the Institute of Real Estate Management. As a property owner himself Alex operates his clients’ properties as if they were his own paying close attention to Asset Preservation, Property Expenses and Client contentment. In his free time Alex enjoys God's presence and blessings, spending time with his family, movies, hiking, body surfing, snowboarding, swimming, barbecuing, exploring San Diego’s wide selection of restaurants and working on staying healthy.

Nikki Comana

Nikki Comana was born in Kansas City, Missouri & soon after moved to Newport Beach, CA with her parents and two older sisters. Growing up in Newport Beach, she attended Newport Heights Elementary, Ensign Middle School, then onto Newport Harbor High School. With the initial goal of becoming a teacher, Nikki worked in the accounting department of an international freight forwarding company while attending school and receiving her Bachelor of Arts in interdisciplinary studies. After meeting Alex in the early 2000s, the idea of starting a family and changing her course into property management appealed to them both. With an accounting background, Nikki took on the position of CFO and Controller overseeing all financial operations. In her free time Nikki enjoys watching her girl’s competitive soccer games, hiking, traveling, and dining.

Jackie Stahl

Jackie Stahl started her real estate career working in commercial, high-rise building management. Before Jackie joined The Comana Company she managed the 7-story Crossroads mid-rise building in Mission Valley.  Prior to that, Jackie was the assistant manager of the 24-story Imperial Bank Tower in downtown San Diego, also known as the Darth Vader building.  After Jackie started her family she decided to leave the corporate world in search of a more family friendly and earthy environment.  Jackie began working for The Comana Company in 2006 and is a fantastic office manager who provides great service to Owners, Tenants, and Vendors.

Patricia Schenkelberg

Patricia Schenkelberg joined The Comana Company in February of 2017 after many years spent being a stay at home and PTA mom. Throughout all the years the one constant in her life besides her family has been music. Having learned the flute in 1978, she continued to play all the way through college. She was a member of the SDSU Marching Aztecs and various other musical ensembles while attending the university. Patricia brings a cheery attitude to the office and conveys a pleasant demeanor when interacting with Owners, Tenants, and Vendors. In her free time Patricia performs in musical theater having performed around San Diego with several theaters for the last 20 years!

Monica Campos

Monica Campos was born in San Diego and lived most of her childhood in Mexico. Commuting across the border to attend school in Chula Vista Monica’s parents bought a home here in the US when she was in 6th Grade. After graduating Castle Park High School Monica attended Southwestern College studying Legal Interpretation earning the degrees of state licensed Spanish teacher and Federal Certified Interpreter. Coming from a large family Monica was destined to enter the field of Property Management as many of her cousins are in the Property Management/Real Estate business. Her first job, many years ago, was onsite manager to a 124 unit building in Chula Vista and she has only excelled from there. Her customer service, attention to detail and communication skills are impressive. As a parent Monica enjoys spending time with family, being outdoors, going to the beach, park, hiking with her Frenchie dog named Gucci.

Brooke Prater

Brooke Prater was born and raised in San Diego. She is a local to the La Mesa area. Brooke was in healthcare for 8 years before joining The Comana Company team. With a passion for hospitality Brooke enjoys working in property management helping meet Owner and Tenant needs. Brooke spends most of her time outdoors when she’s not in the office. She loves to camp, hike, and enjoy all Southern California has to offer.

Clint Bradley

Clint Bradley was born in New Jersey however with California in his parents sights they and a young Clint moved to California in the mid 70’s. After completing college Clint settled down in uptown San Diego taking on a position of onsite manager for a 18-unit complex managed by The Comana Company in the early 2000’s. He continues to be the onsite manager for that complex and has grown his experience in Property Management to the position of Regional Property Manager overseeing a portfolio of properties located in Hillcrest, Clairemont, Pacific Beach, Point Loma, Linda Vista, North Park and Serra Mesa. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, kayaking, being with close friends and family, movies, cooking and exploring all San Diego has to offer.

Pedro Carrasquillo

Pedro is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico and grew up in Needham, Massachusetts. Having earned a degree in Business Management Pedro traded the ski slopes of snowy Vermont for sunny San Diego which has been his home for the past 34 years. Pedro brings over 30 years of property management field experience as well as exceptional customer service skills. He has worked for The Comana Company since 2004. He is also a zip line aficionado, beach enthusiast, enjoys the cultural arts and is a strong shelter pet adoption advocate.

Tyson Boyer

Tyson Boyer is a San Diego native. Born into a military family and after attending Helix High School in La Mesa, Tyson joined the Marines. In a twist of fate Tyson was also stationed in San Diego County and never had to leave home. After serving our country as a Marine he attended SDSU graduating with a degree in Finance. In 2017 Tyson joined The Comana Company team as a Regional Property Manager and works tirelessly providing Owners and Tenants great service. Tyson was recently accepted into the CPM® candidate program through the Institute of Real Estate Management. Tyson is an avid pool player and pool competitor, an amateur dog trainer, a traveler, enjoys camping, but most importantly loves his role as father and husband.

Karen Ansak-Durden

Karen Ansak-Durden was born and lived most of her childhood in San Francisco and other surrounding Bay Area cities. As an avid water fan Karen both swam and dove for her high school in Mann County and life guarded when on break. After graduating Karen moved to San Diego to pursue a certification from the Red Cross as a Water Safety Instructor. With that certification Karen continued to lifeguard as a means to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University. Karen has spent twenty plus years in the property management field working with owners, vendors and tenants providing a welcoming customer relations experience to all. In her free time Karen enjoys swimming 3 to 4 miles a week, weekend walks with her husband, enjoy their annual Navy Bay Bridge Run/Walk each May and riding their Harley's in San Diego's scenic back country.

Carla Jackson

Carla Jackson is a true San Diego native. Born and raised in North Park / Normal Heights Carla now calls the College Area her home which perfectly suits her role as Property Supervisor for the Portfolio of properties she oversees in Central and East San Diego. Before joining The Comana Company, Carla spent many years in the Mortgage Industry assisting new and existing homeowners with their mortgage loan needs. This background has given Carla a keen understanding of the importance of properly screening potential applicants and ensuring all tenancy-related documents are completed according to office procedure. Carla enjoys working with people, which translates to timely and effective communication with owners, tenants and vendors as well as having great conflict resolution skills. In her free time, Carla enjoys time with her family and friends, cooking, shopping, frequenting coffee shops, and the many city attractions of San Diego with her dog Nova.

Melinda Sauls

Melinda Sauls is a San Diego native born to a Portuguese immigrant Father and second-generation Sicilian/German Mother. Melinda attended Catholic school through Jr. High then attended Helix high school in La Mesa where she was a successful swimmer. Melinda went onto earn a Bachelor of Science Degree from SDSU and immediately utilized her degree working in San Diego’s thriving hospitality and tourism industry. After starting a family, Melinda segued her skill set into placing foreign exchange students with host families throughout Southern California schools while simultaneously managing units in the short-term rental industry. Melinda has a passion for global travel, beach camping, yoga, running, outdoor activities, cooking and is an avid concert goer with an affinity toward all genres of music. Most importantly her spare time is filled at her children’s sports and educational events. Melinda prides herself on providing excellent customer service to owners, tenants and vendors.

Born in Los Angeles, California Luz has lived in San Diego since the age of 8. Luz discovered her passion for property management in 2008 while working with Lincoln Military Housing where she was hired as a Customer Service Representative and quickly was promoted to Service Manager. While working with Lincoln Military Housing Luz fine-tuned her customers service skills and is now an experienced site manager having worked for The Comana Company in this position since 2017. Originally hired as an onsite manager for a 16-unit apartment complex Luz now oversees a broad portfolio of properties. In 2020 Luz became a Realtor® and now offers additional services to the community as a housing expert. Luz’s hospitality towards people comes naturally as she thrives on the satisfying feeling of providing housing for tenants and new homeowners alike. Luz takes pride in her a strong all around work ethic and does an exceptional job with owners, tenants, vendors and office staff. In her spare time Luz enjoys reading but more importantly absolutely loves spending time with her family.

Esmeralda Unna

Esmeralda has been a Southern California native all her life. Born and raised in Los Angeles she then moved to San Diego 20 years ago. Esmeralda carries many years of property management experience beginning as an on-site property manager for a 156 unit complex to most recently being a resettlement agent for Catholic Charities. Having exceptional communication skills which includes being bilingual, Esmeralda prides herself on great relationship management and client services. Her interpersonal skills build long lasting relationships with owners, tenants and vendors which create trust and confidence in her ability to proactively manage properties. When not working she enjoys spending time with her son and exploring all that beautiful San Diego has to offer.
